The perfect end to a fantastic holiday.
Our stay was fantastic, although we struggled to find the appartment as the sign had been washed away in heavy rain just before our arrival, we rang the owner who quickly came to meet us in the car and show us to the appartment. The owner, Othmar, was lovely and couldn't do enough for us. He had great local knowledge with the potential to spot some celebs. The appartment is fantasic and the views are unbelievable! We were greated with sweet wine and biscotti, a fridge stocked with water, beer and juice and nespresso coffee and a TV ready tuned into English channels. we took a trip down to the local town (we were feeling lazy and drove, you could walk, but the walk up the gravel path is steep and quite long) where you can sit and have a meal or gelato or just relax on the lakes edge or even take the short taxi boat to one of the lakes islands. We then sat out with a glass of wine and watched the sunset in the private garden and then cooked a meal (the appartment has a fully equipt kitchen) and sat out on the private balcony overlooking the lake to eat it. Breakfast was included which was spectacular! I have never seen such an amazing spread - everything from fresh coffee, freshly squeezed OJ, bacon and eggs, smoked salmon, fresh pastries, we could have spent all day grazing and probably could have as Othmar allowed us to stay till midday untill we had to leave for our flight. We had a lovely night stay and only wish we could have stayed longer! The perfect end to a fantastic holiday.

Exceptional!
My husband and I recently stayed with Otmar at the villa in Umbria. His kindness to us was exemplary - we had chosen to travel without a car and were content with walking and using the train &/or bus system when needed. Otmar offered us the use of his car and had us accompany him to Perugia one day where we enjoyed the outstanding view of the countryside while he attended to business. Such thoughtfulness was unexpected and immensely appreciated. The accommodation was pristene, the view thrilling and if you like to walk - the location of the villa afforded healthy walks into the village and to the shore of beautiful Lago Trasimeno. Thank you very much again to our most hospitable hosts.

Perfect hosts nothing was too much trouble
Our host couldnt do enough to enhance our stay. Sorting out a good deal on 3 bikes and taking us to pick them up to save us del charge. As the area around the lake is very flat we could cover quite a good distance mainly off road. We travelled with our teenage son and he took full advantage off the free wifi. On our arrival we found the apartment to be very clean and newly refurbished. We have stayed in quite a few holiday lets and on the whole we have had good experiences. This however was by far the best hospitality we have encountered. I had mentioned that it was my husbands birthday on the day of our arrival. Antonella said she would get some supplies for us. Well! the fridge was full of food and drink red wine, white wine, fruit juice, bowl fruit, parmesan, to list but a few things. There where also lots of dry ingredient in the cupboard like rice and pasta. Washing facilities where available with softner and washing liquid enabling me to get everything washed before i went home. There where 2 families with 4 young children between them staying at the same time as us and Othmar bought them a good quality paddling pool which he didnt have to. You felt like they really wanted people to have a nice holiday and they would go out off there way to make that happen . The only negative I can think off is the air conditioning I think it was an water cooled system. It wouldnt have been a problem but the temp was unusually hot even for the owners while we where there. You need a car as it is about 5-10 min walk to main road down a track but this adds to the rustic charm off this beautiful getaway.

We had a wonderful time in Antico Casale Tiravento. It was designed very nice and conferrable, the view of the lake was amazing and the hosts were very nice and helpful in everything we asked for.

A wonderful quiet spot with a breath-taking view
We stayed at Antico Casale Tiravento as a large group of 9 people and had a wonderful time, despite unseasonally wet weather. This is because Othmar and his son really know how to look after their customers! Tiravento is set in an olive grove, accessed via a small unmade road on the hillside overlooking Lake Trasimeno. The views are breathtaking. We took the whole building and so had loads of space. The accommodation is split into four apartments with their own access, but with connecting doors on each floor. So we all had our own space but could gather together when we wanted to. The house is well-equipped, up to date and has pretty much everything you would need.
Othmar and his family have a small house nearby, where they spend some of their time at weekends etc. They were so friendly and helpful, yet did not intrude at all on our privacy. They also worked really hard to ensure that we had everything we needed, including a huge long table to sit around on the patio!!
The centre of the village of Passignano Sul Trasimeno is within walking distance from the villa, with lots of good restaurants, boat trips on the lake and two small supermarkets, one of which is just at the bottom of the access road, as well a good restaurant that will also prepare take away pizza. Loads to do in the area - car needed.
