This was a beautiful spot to relax and recharge after a busy hot week in Assisi. Antoinella and her family looked after me so well, from picking me up from the station to offering a lift to Perugia. The apartment is small but has everything you need and the setting is calm and quiet with wonderful views across the lake.
This was perfect for me, but the house is quite a walk from the town and transport links, so when I return I'll come for longer and with a car so I can explore more easily.

Antonella and her husband were very cordial and helpful throughout our stay. The location was splendid and the quality of the accommodation was top notch. Breakfast was also high quality.

It is an amazing place on the top of a hill with a fascinating view. Our breakfast in the garden was very nice and the owner of the property, Antonella, does everything she can to make your holiday perfect. We loved this place very much, it is one of the best places we have ever stayed in.

Beautiful location, wonderful view, very peaceful. Spacious and cost competitive for a family of five. We spent a night after 5 days in Rome. The lake nearby is very nice for swimming during a hot day. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Our stay in Passignano Sul Trasimeno was one of our only two-night stops in a single hotel across our whole trip; my partner wanted a day's break from the travelling and on seeing what this hotel/apartment had to offer, she chose to do it here. It really is an idea spot if what you are looking for is silence, solitude and a place to sit in the sun/shade. Set about a 20 min walks/5 minute drive from the centre of Passignano it's not a place you'd choose to stay if you wanted to be in the middle of restaurants and bars, or within close reach of the lake itself - the only real flaw I personally had with the stay. However if, like my partner, that's not what you wanted you'd find almost nothing you could fault with Antico Casale. It's a very well modernised set of apartments, with underfloor cooling in place of air conditioning, well appointed kitchens, very comfortable beds and all spotlessly clean. The hosts are friendly and helpful beyond the call of duty and it'd take a stony heart indeed not to simple melt into relaxation once you sit down and stare across the grounds and/or view. We stayed in Apartment Alpha (http://www.tiravento.it/en/apartment-alpha.html) and with the exception of a rather leaky shower door that left the bathroom floor soaked and slippery (a warning to those with young children or older family members) that stay was an utter delight. A five minute walk to the nearest store will keep your fridge well stocked and the breakfasts on the terrace is where Antonella falls over herself to ensure you have everything you could want. Oh, and wifi . . . you may feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but the free wifi provided is as good as any I found in any hotel anywhere on my trip. Not that it's great (Italy doesn't really do wifi well at all) but for casual web and email use it'll do the job. I'd probably have rated this place as a 4.5 out of five if the half marks allowed, but it would be wrong to rate it as a four - it gets all five stars,

We just spent 3 days at Antico Casale Tiravento. Rather than operate this fantastic property, Antonella should operate a hospitality school. Her generosity and warmth are standouts in a country known for these things. And the property itself is wonderful....up on a hill with a commanding view of Lake Trasimeno, rooms tastefully done, and immaculately clean. Very highly recommended and Thank You Antonella!

As soon as we arrived we felt at home !!! Antonella is such a warm and welcoming person!!! She took great care of us from the moment we arrived to the time we left!! Breakfast was wonderful on the terrace with a magnificent view of the lake !!

Place full of peace inside nature, but not far from cities like Florence. Really advised for every kind of holiday. Apartament very nice, stylish and full equipped. Wonderful view from each corner. I hope to have another opportunity to come back.

Antonella had received us in this lovely place and for the very first moment made us feel completely comfortable and welcomed. The department is fully equipped, the view can't be better, it is very peaceful A great place for a romantic stay or for a family trip. If there is need to get groceries or have a nice dinner, in a few minutes you can get anything you want. What else can I say, I felt in love of this beautiful place on earth. Antonella and family are the best owners I have ever met. Will come back!

She advises and assists the guests with all her heart. In the morning she runs her legs off to make a delicious breakfast with boiled or scrambled eggs and even every morning there is a appetizing homemade cake or pie. Everything is fresh and especially the ham is very tasty. Antonella is just happy if the guests are satisfied. You may use the washing machine and the dryer in the outbuilding. The place is surrounded by olive trees and absolutely quiet and peaceful. We stayed in the room on the first floor on the right side. It has a small balcony however the view on the lake is fabulous. By day and at night as well. The gravel path to the accommodation is very steep although it’s easy to drive because there are no abysses on both sides. The accommodation is very good located. It’s only a short drive ( approx. 1 km) to the Conad supermarket in Passignano. We enjoyed our stay very much and met very nice people too during breakfast. This accommodation is really worth it’s high ranking.

Our comfortable, modern apartment was very well equipped and, being on the ground floor,had access to a garden area with beautiful views of Lake Trasimeno, the town of Passignano and beyond. We were able to have breakfast on the terrace every morning and Antonella worked extremely hard to make sure that all the guests were happy. It is very easy to relax here. We found that the other guests felt the same. (Peter and Ingrid - if you read this we hope you enjoyed the rest of your visit as much as we did ours). There were 4 of us that stayed here and we loved it. Stayed for 4 nights and Antonella and family could not do enough for us they are a lovey couple and made us feel really welcome. The breakfast she put on each day was lovely and there was always lots of choice she gave us complimentary drinks on arrival. Very kind family and if I came back to the area I would definatly stay here. Views are amazing and it's only a 10 minute walk into the village. Louise

The kindness of Antonella and her family! She made us feel at home directly with a complimentary drink . The apartments are modern and well maintained and we had a big terrace and nice views. Every morning we had a delicious breakfast with fruits, cake, bread , cornflakes and scrambled egg. During our six nights stay we met three couples and they were all very happy at Beautiful Antico Casale Tiravento. We had a very nice dinner together organised by a very charming american couple. And there was another dinner hosted by Antonella ! Our teenage daughters at first missed a pool, but The smile and kindness of Antonella at our arrival, the good and free WIFI and a red/ white cat they were allowed to name it Ginger and Susan and Tim and other nice quests made them want to stay, even when the holiday was over. We felt friendship and have experienced beautiful moments in this place, where we indeed hope to return

It can't be like this for everyone, but we found magic at the top of this hill. Magic is what happened when 5 couples with and without children came together unexpectedly without knowing one another. We were one Dutch family with two teen aged daughters, two German couples, one American couple, a local retired-to-Italy Dutchman and our Italian host. We ate together, laughed together, shared stories, and became friends. No matter the beautiful view of serene Lake Tresimeno, no matter the exceptionally restored Antico Casale, or the philosophic journeying into neighboring ancient towns and hillside respites, the best part of our experience was the gentle joining of this disparate group of people. Why did this happen? It can be explained by the grace and intuition of our host who made it all possible... providing the perfect backdrop by having the vision to restore this magical hilltop to a splendorous gathering place.

You can conjure what you want for yourself on the top of this hill. If you want to be left alone. You can be. If you want conversation. You can have it. If you want to make new friends. So it shall be.

The apartments are updated, modern, clean, and wonderful for spending time between Tuscany and Umbria. A perfect area for exploring the region and then having the lake and the town and the family on the hill to come home to in the evening.

What is a better holiday than this? I can think of nothing. The world should have more opportunities for connecting just like this one....
